Orthotics

Orthotics (also known as orthotic therapy) are devices that sit underneath your foot and inside your shoe to correct the way in which your foot moves. There are two ways in which orthotics can be purchased: custom (prescribed) and prefabricated (non-prescribed).

Why Use Custom Orthotics?

The structure and load of movement in your feet may indicate why you feel pain.

Even small abnormalities in your movement place a lot of stress on the foot and lower leg. Such abnormalities can be corrected with custom orthotics because your movement is supported by correcting and realigning your heel and arch.

This then adjusts the muscles, ligaments, tendons and bones in your feet and lower leg so pain is no longer an issue.

Why Use Prefabricated Orthotics?

Prefabricated orthotics can be adjusted and modified to your individual needs. Determining which option is best will come down to your specific condition/needs. Your podiatrist will guide you through this.

Why Our Orthotics Are Different

At Manly Cove Podiatry, we have invested in advanced computer software which means that your feet benefit from this analytical data.
A 3D scan of your feet is taken and the podiatrist will prescribe an orthotic that is tailored to fit your needs.

We use a range of high-quality materials such as foams, thermoplastics and 3D printing so you can experience comfort as a result. Plus, your orthotic is designed and made specifically to align with your favourite shoe.
