Frequently Asked Questions
Is this my first visit or a return appointment?
If you have not seen us before, select First Appointment. If you are an existing patient returning for ongoing care, select Standard Appointment. Both appointments are 30 minutes.
Do I need a referral to see a podiatrist?
No referral is needed for a standard podiatry appointment. You can book directly online. If you have a GP referral, any relevant imaging, or letters from other health professionals, bring those along as they help us hit the ground running.
Is podiatry covered by Medicare?
Podiatry is covered under Medicare’s Chronic Disease Management program. If your GP has identified a chronic condition, they can issue an EPC referral which entitles you to up to 5 allied health visits per calendar year, depending on your GP’s assessment. We are not a bulk billing practice, you pay at the time of your appointment, and we process your Medicare claim on the spot, with the rebate returned directly to you.
Do you accept Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) patients?
Yes. We accept Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) patients with a GP referral. If you hold a DVA card and have been referred by your GP, please mention this when booking or call us on (02) 8966 9552 to discuss your entitlements before your first visit.
Can I claim on my private health fund?
Yes. We have HiCaps available for on-the-spot claiming with most major private health funds. Bring your health fund card and we will process your claim at the time of your appointment. The gap payment, if any, will depend on your level of cover.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Wear or bring the shoes you use most often, your work shoes, runners, or whatever you are wearing when the problem is at its worst. If you have any scan reports, imaging, or letters from other health professionals, bring those too. For Medicare or DVA patients, bring your referral from your GP.
How long will my appointment take?
Both first and standard appointments are 30 minutes. We always try our best to run on time and ask that you arrive a few minutes early, particularly for your first visit so we can take down your details.
Is parking available near the clinic?
Yes. There is street parking along East Esplanade, in the surrounding streets and around Manly Wharf. The clinic is also an easy walk from Manly Ferry Wharf and the major bus stops.
