Children’s Podiatry

There is no doubt that witnessing your little one’s first steps is something you will never forget. Indeed a special moment for all involved.

Did you know that a child’s foot bones do not fully develop and harden until around the ages of 13-15 years old? As parents, we need to pay close attention to developing feet for two main reasons: first, certain abnormalities may arise during the infancy stage. Second, children may not have the capacity to tell us when something is a concern to them.

At Manly Cove Podiatry, we diagnose, treat and manage little feet so you can have peace of mind knowing your child is in good hands.

Why Children’s Podiatry Matters

Growing pains is a term that you have most likely heard before. Growing pains is a broad term used to refer to many types of pain that a child can experience. In fact, any pain is not normal – they usually indicate an underlying condition.

A popular belief is that children will outgrow pain or whatever symptoms they face as an infant or toddler. However, this is not always the case. Early detection of abnormalities is important to address. Abnormalities may appear in the way your infant sits or the way your toddler walks. If in doubt, just give us a call.
