Do I need a doctor’s referral to make an appointment?
Only if you are claiming podiatry under the Department of Veteran’s Affairs (DVA) or Chronic Disease Management Plan. In which case, you will need a referral from your GP. Anyone wishing to claim treatment through Work Cover must contact their Case Manager for permission to proceed with podiatry services. We require written authorisation from the Case Manager, ensuring us that Work Cover will pay for the initial consultation and report if required.
Can I cancel my appointment?
Yes, however, we require 24 hours’ notice. We understand that people become unwell or circumstances arise that may prevent you from making your appointment.
We request you to contact us with sufficient notice where possible.
What should I bring to the appointment?
- A referral form/letter (only if you have been referred by your GP under DVA or Chronic Disease Management Plan).
- Any relevant scans such as X-rays, CT’s, MRI’s, etc (only if you have them).
- Private Health Fund card
- Current orthotics
- Shoes that you wear regularly (work, school and/or sport shoes)

Yes, we offer home visit podiatry services for individuals who are unable to visit our clinic in person due to mobility issues, medical conditions, or other reasons. Is Podiatry covered by Medicare?
Yes, but only under a Chronic Disease Management Plan scheme or Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA). Both of these require a referral from your GP as proof of your eligibility.
